My name is Mike Coyne, and I am the Bantam 2 Head Coach. I grew up playing for Parma Hockey and developed my love for the game here. When my kids were old enough to start skating, I naturally brought them back to the place where I had spent so many weekends.
I’ve had the privilege of coaching both my son and daughter throughout their hockey careers at Parma, from Mites all the way to Bantam. Since joining the coaching staff in 2017, I’ve worked with players across all levels, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a passionate and supportive community.
It’s an honor to work with so many amazing kids and families, and I’m proud to help continue the tradition of Parma Hockey.

Coach Gervaise grew up playing youth hockey in Central New York. After U14 he began playing junior hockey in various leagues throughout New England and Ontario, CA. He then attended University at Buffalo and played four years on their ACHA D1 team. Some memorable moments during his playing career include winning the Sophomore Tournament for Hockey Night in Boston, winning Gold in the Empire State Games, and competing in an exhibition game against the Russian Jr Hockey Allstars during their Canada / Russia Hockey Tour.
Coach Gervaise has taught hockey from Learn to Play through U14. He has coached at Winterhurst, Strongsville, Team Ohio, and Parma. He believes hockey can teach lifelong lessons and stresses the importance of hard work and playing as a team. His focus is on skill development and competing as a team, with an objective to improve the players to be able to play at the next level.

He continued his youth hockey career in the CSHL, just like the very kids he currently coaches, until moving on up and attending Padua Franciscan High School where he was a 3 year varsity hockey letterman and team captain his senior season. After high school, Mike continued playing at the collegiate level at University of Findlay in Findlay, OH. Coach mike has always loved the game of hockey and was fortunate enough to have played at many levels allowing him to travel throughout the US, Canada and even Europe during his career. His hockey coaching experience also took root at a young age as he began instructing in multiple summer hockey and power skating camps/schools throughout the Cleveland suburban area during his high school and college years.
Coach Mike is currently level 3 USA hockey certified, and has been coaching here for PHA since 2017. Mike is currently the co-ADM director for PHA with his ADM director and partner coach Bob Waltzers. Mike is an orthopedic physical therapist by day as well as a hockey coach by night. He's currently head coaching the Mite 2 red team as well as the Mite 5 blue team this 2022-23 season. He has 2 sons currently playing mite hockey here at PHA: Luca (2014) and Rocco (2017). He is also the father to 2 beautiful daughters: Rosalia and Gianna.
Coach Mike enjoys being around the rink as he not only coaches but continues to play adult league hockey on the regular in his ripe old age. He now takes pride in the opportunity to inspire, encourage and coach the many wonderful kids here at PHA. He feels fortunate to be able to share his hockey knowledge and passion with the next generation!
After all, hockey is all about making friends, making memories and having fun...so let's do just that and have a great season!

If a child can skate, they most likely learned from Ken. Coach Ledford is a member of our Hall of Fame and has been coaching Mini Mites longer than any of our other coaches have been in Parma.
